Position Overview
Jeanette is currently seeking a UI/UX Junior Designer to join Sketch & Form. Sketch & Form is a design firm that offers research and design services to help eCommerce businesses grow. Services include user-centered website design, customized website audit, user research and testing, and additional customized projects. The team creates high-performing eCommerce experiences for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands focusing on what consumers want, need, and prefer. The company is still in its infancy, and this is the best time to come on board, roll up your sleeves and be a part of shaping a growing multi-cultural firm.
This is an independent contractor, remote opportunity based on new projects booked. You’ll be required to work roughly 5-10 hours per week when a new project starts and we need someone with the capacity to add more time if additional projects are received. The compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As the business grows and changes, responsibilities are subject to vary.

Identify target user groups and carry out interviews or other types of inquiry to help understand user needs

Ensure the creation of customized experiences for the digital users

Produce high-quality solutions through user flows, wireframes, lo-fi & hi-fi designs, and site maps

Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior

Maintain a competitive edge against competitor products and industry trends

Perform tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages, and banners

Understand product specifications and user psychology and predict what might work for both

Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers

Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps

Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets

Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers

Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like

Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, and tables)

Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
-
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)

Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback

Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images
Requirements:

Required, either Sketch or Figma (pref Figma)

Knowledge of eCommerce platforms preferred (such as SFCC/Shopify)

Google Analytics and User Testing experience not required but a plus

Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role

Portfolio of design projects

Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders

Good time-management skills

Access to a computer and reliable internet connection

Scrappy, can-do attitude
